The Head of Supply Chain Vacaville will provide strategic and operational leadership for the end-to-end Supply Chain organization at our Vacaville site. The role translates Integrated Biologics Supply Chain strategy into site execution, building a high-performing and scalable organization, and ensuring planning, material readiness, logistics, warehousing, master data, performance management and continuous improvement are delivered with discipline, compliance and customer focus. The role holds end-to-end accountability for Supply Chain performance across all assets in the Vacaville site.
As a member of the Vacaville Site Leadership Team and the INB Supply Chain Leadership Team, the role connects site priorities with Business Platform and network strategy. The incumbent drives cross-functional alignment with Manufacturing, Quality, MSAT, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Program Management, Procurement, IT and Network Planning. The role is accountable for reporting and analytics of SC KPIs, continuous improvement and transformation to ensure supply chain performance with respect to compliance, reliability, agility and cost. The role will build a high performing team through performance management, talent development and succession depth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Supply Planning cycles for assigned manufacturing assets, ensuring optimal customer service, production performance, and capacity utilization.
- Develop, execute, and maintain supply plans, master production schedules, and medium-term capacity plans to support business objectives.
- Create supply, capacity, and prioritization scenarios that maximize asset utilization, identify constraints, and mitigate operational risks.
- Lead the monthly Supply Review and S&OP process for Vacaville, providing clear visibility to forecasts, risks, opportunities, and required business decisions.
- Support annual budgeting, strategic planning, and business review processes through data-driven supply chain insights and recommendations.
- Ensure planning parameters, production schedules, master data, and supply plans are accurately maintained within SAP, OMP, and related planning systems.
- Partner closely with Network Planning, Operations, Program Management, Quality, MSAT, Finance, and other key stakeholders to align supply strategies with site and network objectives.
- Coordinate with external sites and business platforms to support the successful planning and execution of integrated manufacturing programs.
- Lead planning and scheduling readiness for major capital projects, ensuring systems, processes, capacity models, master data, and resources are prepared for operational start-up and ramp-up.
- Own site inventory planning and optimization strategies, balancing customer service levels, working capital objectives, and inventory risk.
- Drive inventory discipline across the organization by fostering collaboration between Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Program Management, and MSAT teams.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient warehousing operations, overseeing material flow from receipt through production support and shipment.
- Monitor Supply Chain performance through established KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion supply chain transformation efforts by enhancing processes, systems, governance, and standard ways of working while supporting enterprise-wide planning and operational excellence initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Planning and Scheduling team, fostering accountability, engagement, talent development, and strong cross-functional leadership as a member of both the Supply Chain Leadership Team and Site Leadership Team.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive Supply Chain experience within a manufacturing environment; pharmaceutical manufacturing or CDMO experience strongly preferred.
- Lead and ensure compliant execution of end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, procurement, data management, warehousing, and logistics, in accordance with GxP requirements.
- Drive a strong quality culture by identifying, escalating, and mitigating quality risks while monitoring and improving quality-related KPIs.
- Ensure safe execution of supply chain activities by promoting EHS compliance, fostering a strong safety culture, and proactively managing safety risks and performance metrics.
- Influence cross-functional and Supply Chain leadership teams to support supply planning decisions and align with site manufacturing strategies.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to establish KPIs, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage Business Intelligence tools and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to analyze data, generate reports, and communicate insights effectively.
- Understand the impact of supply chain planning decisions on customer service, inventory levels, asset utilization, operational costs, and overall site performance, using financial and operational data to support decision-making.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills by aligning site priorities with broader network objectives, fostering clear two-way communication, and maintaining accountability for team and organizational outcomes.

As required by law in this State, the quoted salary range for this position is $211,000.00 - $330,000.00. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation on performance.
Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at the company between the lower and the middle part of the applicable range. We tailor our offers within the range based on job-related factors, including organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic area and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and/or communication skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This range is only inclusive of base salary, and base pay is just one component of Lonza’s total compensation package for employees.
