This Position reports to:
Global Engineering ManagerThis role will be working as Senior Project Engineer and will be part of Automation Business Area for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Engineering Manager and will be responsible for designing and executing DCS engineering activities in Service or Greenfield projects with medium to large complexity, according to standard work instructions, quality standards and safety guidelines. Delivering quality customer service to satisfy customers.
The work model for the role is # LI - Hybrid.
This role is contributing to the to the Energy Industries for INOPC based in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Execute assigned automation and control system projects, including control logic development, HMI configuration, testing (IFAT/FAT), commissioning, and site acceptance activities.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as design specifications, technical documentation, test procedures, and bill of materials while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
- Provide technical leadership to project teams, resolve technical queries, conduct design reviews, and ensure high-quality project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to monitor project progress, manage risks, address technical challenges, and meet contractual commitments.
- Support customer-facing activities by participating in commissioning, troubleshooting, technical discussions, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Contribute to proposal development, continuous improvement initiatives, design reviews, and implementation of best engineering practices to enhance project execution efficiency.

Qualifications for the role:
- 8-10 years of experience in Process Automation within Oil & Gas, Refineries, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, or Batch industries, with hands-on ICSS experience (PCS, SIS/ESD, PMS).
- Strong knowledge of control system architecture, DCS application engineering, graphics engineering, and industry standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 61131-3, IEC 61850, IEC 104, and IEC 101.
- Experience with field instrumentation, industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, OPC UA, IEC 61850, IEC 104, etc.), and networked control systems.
- Ability to interpret and work with engineering documents including P&IDs, Control Narratives, SAMA diagrams, I/O Lists, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Cause & Effect matrices, and Interlock/Protection documents.
- Commissioning experience in process industries and willingness to travel internationally (up to 40-50%) as required by project needs. Exposure to ABB 800xA and ABB DCS hardware/software engineering is an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
