Job Description:

• Manages all operations and evaluations of the Neuroscience Program, including program development, strategy, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, patient flow, and performance improvement.
• Creates and deploys strategies to increase neurosurgery volume, support neurosurgery committee efforts, and engage physicians.
• Ensures all program standards are met as required by CMS, The Joint Commission, and the American Stroke Association's guidelines.
• Works with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance care coordination across community, EMS outreach programs, staff education, physician and patient education, and marketing communications.
• Provides management oversight for the hospital-based neuroscience program. Creates policies to guide the operations of the Neuroscience Program.
• Manages staff to ensure effective delivery of services.
• Coordinates intra-facility referrals to streamline patient care.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with all relevant standards and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires interpersonal and management skills in order to deal with complex management problems.
• Communicates effectively with unit and administrative personnel, physicians, a variety of other hospital staff and persons within the community.
• Requires advanced knowledge and expertise in providing care in order to oversee others and serve as effective resource at a level normally acquired through two or three years of progressive experience.
• Requires a high level of critical thinking and analytical skills to make management decisions at unit level and make recommendations for consideration on departmental issues.
• Requires the ability to integrate the knowledge of teaching principles and counseling techniques in order to direct the growth of the unit staff.
• Requires a high level of organization skills, effective time management and delegation strategies that include the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust workflow according to changing unit needs.
• Incumbents must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and to demonstrate that she/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
• Must have working knowledge of budgets and healthcare finance and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, to include night and weekend hours, with visibility to all shifts.

Education:

• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
• Master's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Work Experience:

• 3+ ed experience and direct involvement in the care of patients with acute coronary syndrome [Required]
• 3+ leadership experience [Required]

Pay Range:

$89,065.60 - $165,651.20
