Job Advertisement: Sr. Sales Engineer

1. Role Purpose

To achieve sales targets by developing new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and promoting the company’s products and technical solutions within the assigned territory. The role focuses on identifying customer requirements, preparing techno-commercial proposals, and driving revenue growth through effective sales execution.

2. Major Accountabilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while driving revenue growth in the assigned territory.
• Develop new customers and business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and key stakeholders.
• Understand customer requirements, deliver technical presentations, and recommend suitable product solutions.
• Manage quotations, commercial negotiations, order closures, payment collection, and coordination with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Achievement of sales targets and revenue growth within the assigned territory.
• Number of new customers acquired and improvement in customer retention and satisfaction.
• Conversion rate of enquiries into orders and timely submission of techno-commercial proposals.
• Timely collection of outstanding payments and accuracy of sales forecasts and reports.

4. Job Responsibilities

• Generate sales enquiries, identify new business opportunities, and convert enquiries into sales orders.
• Develop new customer accounts and maintain existing relationships with consultants, contractors, OEMs, EPC companies, and end users.
• Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, product presentations, and demonstrations to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Prepare and follow up on technical and commercial quotations, coordinate order processing and deliveries, and provide customer support.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities, prepare sales plans and reports, maintain accurate CRM records, collect payments, and travel extensively within the assigned territory.

5. Job Specific Requirements

• Education: B.Tech. in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in industrial electrical products, automation, or hazardous-area equipment.
• Languages: Proficiency in Hindi and English.

6. Job Specific Competencies

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, industrial electrical products, and control systems.
• Explosion Protection Knowledge: Understanding of hazardous-area classifications, ATEX/IECEx concepts, and explosion protection techniques, including flameproof (Ex d), increased safety (Ex e), and intrinsic safety (Ex i).
• Software and Systems: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM software and ERP systems is preferred.
