About The Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our growing Commercial Building Consultancy team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of instructions across the property lifecycle while building long-term client relationships and contributing to the development of junior colleagues.
The Opportunity
As a Chartered Senior Building Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality building consultancy services to a broad portfolio of commercial clients. You'll be involved in both professional and project work, managing client relationships, driving business development and providing commercially focused advice.
This role offers exposure to a wide variety of commercial assets and the opportunity to work alongside market-leading professionals in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Building Consultancy & Project Delivery
- Lead and deliver professional building surveying instructions.
- Undertake project management and contract administration duties.
- Carry out technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys.
- Provide dilapidations, landlord and tenant, and party wall advice.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of condition and defect reports.
- Conduct building pathology assessments and reinstatement cost assessments.
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high professional standard and within agreed timescales.
Client Relationship & Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Promote the firm's services through networking and industry engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the wider business to generate cross-selling opportunities.
- Support the achievement of fee income and business growth objectives.
Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor and support junior surveyors and graduates.
- Share technical knowledge and best practice across the team.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Act as a positive role model and contribute to the ongoing success of the department.
About You
We're interested in speaking with commercially minded building surveyors who combine strong technical expertise with excellent relationship-building skills.
You'll Ideally Have:
- MRICS qualification.
- Experience working within commercial building surveying.
- Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, dilapidations, technical due diligence and project work.
- Working knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- A client-focused and commercially aware approach.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.
Desirable
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NBS Specification Writer and Microsoft Project.
