Where You’ll Make a Difference
- Characterize a focused library of alpha-amylase enzymes under various experimental conditions.
- Evaluate enzyme performance across different pH and temperature ranges.
- Investigate the impact of individual and combined mutations on enzyme functionality and stability.
- Perform substrate specificity studies using starch and related polysaccharides.
- Analyze reaction products to determine enzyme product profiles and hydrolysis patterns.
- Design, execute, and document laboratory experiments following established protocols and safety standards.
- Process, interpret, and present experimental data to support scientific decision-making.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers to discuss findings and propose next steps for enzyme development.
- Contribute to technical reports and project presentations summarizing results and insights.
What Makes You the Right Fit
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong interest in enzyme technology, protein engineering, or industrial biotechnology.
- Basic understanding of enzymology and biochemical characterization techniques.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment through coursework, projects, or previous internships.
- Ability to accurately record, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
