About Our Family

We're an active family of six based in Beavercreek, Ohio, with four kids ranging from preschool age through early teen years. Life in our home is full, fast-paced, and genuinely fun — but it requires a lot of coordination. Between work-from-home schedules, school pickups 30 minutes away, evening activities across multiple locations, and a household that gets going early and doesn't slow down until late, the logistics of daily life pile up quickly.

We have built out some intentional support systems, including a bi-weekly house cleaner, but life moves quickly and we’re looking for someone who can help us take our village to the next level. We care deeply about investing in our kids’ various interests, but the 30 minute commute to most activities means that a lot of time is spent in the car and not much is left to dedicate to managing our home systems.

We're a faith-based household with a warm, high-energy environment. We like to keep things light and fun, and we value someone who brings that same optimism and steadiness into our home every day. We're health-conscious and are interested in gradually moving toward cleaner products and more balanced eating, though we're realistic about what that looks like with young kids.

Our home runs best when systems are in place, meals are planned ahead, and someone is proactively thinking two steps ahead of us. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You're an experienced, systems-minded professional who genuinely takes pride in leaving things better than you found them. You don't wait to be told what needs attention — you notice the cabinet that needs reorganizing, the errand that should be grouped with another, or the calendar conflict that hasn't been flagged yet. You're confident making recommendations, proactive in building processes that actually stick, and calm in the middle of cheerful household chaos.

You bring a warm, grounded presence around children. You know how to redirect kids with patience and positivity rather than frustration, and you can hold appropriate boundaries while keeping the energy upbeat. You're dependable and organized — not just tidying around the edges, but building systems that evolve with a growing family. You communicate clearly, exercise good judgment, and bring a steady, solution-forward attitude to everything you do.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Perform daily resets: unload and reload the dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas, handle trash, and tidy before bi-weekly cleaners arrive
  • Maintain and improve existing household organization systems: evolve existing setups (bins, labels, kids' room layouts) to better match how the family actually uses their spaces
  • Conduct monthly walk-throughs under beds, behind furniture, and in storage areas; coordinate with the cleaning crew on anything that needs deeper attention
  • Manage battery replacements, light bulb changes, smoke detector checks, and other proactive home maintenance tasks
  • Refresh mudroom and laundry room regularly; maintain a tidy, functional entry

Meal Support

  • Own meal planning for a family of six (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
  • Plan 3 to 4 dinners per week in alignment with the family calendar (accounting for activity nights when the family eats out); meals can include pickup options such as rotisserie chicken, prepared dinners from local markets, or batch-cooked casseroles in addition to fully home-cooked options
  • Prepare 3-4 well-balanced, family-style meals per week in alignment with the family calendar (accounting for activity nights when the family eats out). Meals can include a blend of home-cooked and prepared dinners from local markets, etc.
  • Accommodate preferences of different family members (e.g. setting aside simple alternatives from the same ingredients rather than cooking a separate meal)
  • Plan and prep school lunches in advance; ensure breakfast staples are stocked and ready
  • Grocery shop (mix of in-store shopping and delivery)
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen on an ongoing basis

Laundry & Linens

  • Fully manage children's laundry: wash, fold, and put away
  • Sort and distribute returns from the laundry service (towels, bed linens, and parents' clothing); place sheets in the correct bedrooms the day before cleaners arrive so they can be put on beds
  • Treat stains on clothing before washing, carefully inspecting kids' clothing as part of the laundry routine
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area

Inventory & Errands

  • Own and manage running household supply lists (shared)
  • Restock pantry, fridge, freezer, toiletries, paper products, and household supplies; distribute throughout the home
  • Handle miscellaneous errands including returns, donation drop-offs, and gift shopping
  • Break down and recycle boxes on an ongoing basis

Family Support

  • Make and coordinate family appointments (medical, dental, speech therapy, etc.)
  • Monitor school communications and ensure events and deadlines are reflected on the family calendar; flag scheduling conflicts proactively and plan solutions accordingly
  • Manage household and family calendar in coordination with the family's existing systems
  • Lay out children's clothing and school items for the following day
  • Provide occasional school pickups and drop-offs using the family vehicle as needed
  • Offer backup childcare on an occasional as-needed basis (e.g., school closures or scheduling gaps)

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Maintain a household maintenance calendar covering recurring tasks (air filters, humidifiers, seasonal switches, exterior lighting installation, etc.) and ensure they are completed on schedule
  • Be the on-site point of contact for cleaners, contractors, and other vendors
  • Research and present three contractor options for any new repair or project needs
  • Manage existing vendor relationships proactively; keep all vendor and payment information organized and accessible
  • Support seasonal property transitions: retrieve and store outdoor furniture cushions and covers, set up and break down holiday decor, prepare outdoor spaces for hosting
  • Maintain weekly check of garage, entry, deck, and walkout basement areas to keep them clean and usable

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Conduct organizational projects throughout the home as needed: e.g. weed out outgrown kids' clothing, purge toys no longer appropriate for current ages, and refine storage systems to better fit the family's habits
  • Coordinate seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and decor
  • Support packing and unpacking for family travel (3 to 4 trips per year), including developing and maintaining a repeatable packing checklist with designated luggage assignments
  • Support event and guest prep (holidays, family gatherings, hosting) to reduce planning load on occasion

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Keep the third family vehicle fueled and ready for use
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance as time allows
  • Ensure family documents (insurance cards, vehicle registration) are scanned and organized for easy access

How to Apply

If interested, please submit the following:

  • A brief letter explaining why you would be a great fit for this position
  • Your updated resume
  • At least 3 professional references with contact information

Note that this role requires a background check.
