Description
[What the role is]
Are you an IT professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement? We're looking for a motivated individual to enhance and mature our existing ICT asset management and governance practices — building on established foundations to drive greater rigour, visibility, and accountability across our IT asset landscape. You'll be engaging directly with business units and teams across the organisation to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in how ICT assets are tracked, managed, and governed. Working with vendors and stakeholders, you'll refine existing processes and controls to ensure our asset management practices remain robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.
[What you will be working on]
ICT Asset Management Enhancement
Building on our existing asset register and inventory processes, you'll identify gaps in asset visibility and work to improve the completeness and accuracy of our ICT asset records. This spans servers, network devices, storage systems, backup solutions, and client computing devices. You'll review current discovery and tracking practices, recommend improvements, and work with business units to close gaps — ensuring our asset register remains a reliable and current source of truth.
Governance & Process Improvement
With a governance baseline already in place, your focus will be on strengthening and maturing existing controls and standards. This includes reviewing baseline requirements for oversight, patching, asset tracking, and lifecycle management, and identifying areas where processes can be tightened or better enforced. You'll work with vendors and internal stakeholders to refine existing arrangements and ensure governance practices keep pace with the evolving asset landscape.
Compliance & Documentation
You'll ensure that asset management activities and governance improvements are properly documented and aligned to established IT governance frameworks. Your role is to review, update, and improve existing records and processes — ensuring they accurately reflect the current state of the organisation's ICT infrastructure and remain actionable over time.
[What we are looking for]
Some experience in IT asset management, service delivery, or IT operations is advantageous, though we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow in this space. Prior exposure to asset management improvement initiatives, IT audits, or governance reviews would be particularly relevant.
Familiarity with common infrastructure components — including servers, network devices, storage systems, backup solutions, and client computing — will help you engage credibly with business users and vendors.
Experience with government procurement frameworks such as GeBIZ and ICT procurement governance will be an advantage.
Familiarity with government IT governance frameworks, particularly IM8 and cybersecurity baseline requirements, will be an advantage as you work to ensure that proposed improvements meet compliance standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify gaps and improvement opportunities from existing data and processes.
Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with business users and IT teams to drive meaningful, practical improvements to existing governance practices.
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Successful candidate will be employed on a 11-month contract with staff benefits.
