About the opportunity:

The Supervisor, Back Office Oncology leads, supervises, and coordinates the daily operations of the Shaw Cancer Center back office in Edwards and Dillon locations, ensuring smooth patient flow, excellent customer service, compliance with regulations, and efficient administrative tasks, while also managing and training staff. 

 
What you will do:
  1. Provides leadership to the back-office team of HIM techs, prior authorization specialists, financial navigators and Infusion scheduling. Leads training of new department hires; develops and attains performance goals and objectives for staff. Manages the back-office team’s schedule; approves timecards, manages PTO approval process; ensures that the back-office team has the resources, tools, and training to perform their duties; leads the performance management of the back-office team, including leading the annual evaluation process for back-office staff and coaching staff on performance issues.
  2. Provides excellent customer services to patients and staff; models excellent customer service for back-office staff; coaches staff to provide excellent customer service. Responds to patient concerns, with assistance from Operations Manager, in order to continuously improve the patient experience. Must be able to manage the operational flow of a medical setting and demonstrate critical decision making to successfully meet operational goals.
  3. Acts as a subject matter expert and super-user in all registration applications, workflows, and Regularly works within the standard duties of back-office team members to fill in scheduling gaps and stay current in workflows and understanding challenges and the patient experience.
  4. Participates in leadership meetings and huddles; attends meetings and trainings; participates in committees.
  5. Creates, reviews, and implements policies and procedures.
  6. Monitors all RQA reports and performs audits on a weekly basis or other frequency as Reports results and any feedback for process improvement to staff and manager.
  7. Represents back office as subject matter expert and leader on special projects.
  8. Acts as liaison among providers, clinical staff, non-clinical staff, and administration. Ensures that the back-office team is working with the clinical team to meet the goals and objectives for optimal patient access, patient flow, and scheduling.
  9. Supervisor expectations 50% of time spent staffing into current position
  10. Performs other duties as assigned. Must by HIPAA compliant.

  • Two years of health care experience in an administrative environment preferred.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay:
$26.52$37.89 USD
