Purpose

IDEMIA’s mission is to provide augmented security solutions for the world we live in today. We are the global leader in trusted biometrics and security solutions for an increasingly digital world.

We are seeking an energetic Supply Chain Inventory Accounting Lead to join our finance team.  This role is a manager-level role which serves as a key business partner for inventory-related accounting activities and is expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

The Inventory and Cost Accounting Lead is responsible for driving inventory accounting accuracy, cost integrity, operational financial visibility, and inventory control processes across the business. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance leadership to ensure inventory transactions, costing, reconciliations, and reporting are accurate, timely, and operationally aligned.

This position requires a proactive and hands-on individual who can both execute and improve inventory and cost accounting processes, identify root causes of transactional and reconciliation issues, and drive sustainable process improvements across ERP and operational workflows.

Key Missions

  • Lead inventory accounting activities, including journal entries, inventory roll-forwards, reserve calculations, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and improve inventory accounting controls and reconciliation processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze and resolve any inventory and costing discrepancies across ERP systems and operational processes.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for inventory-related operational issues and process improvements.
  • Maintain standard costs for materials and goods, including updates, reviews, and coordination with relevant Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations stakeholders.
  • Maintain intercompany transfer inventory files.
  • Maintain sales price book files for contract and ad-hoc invoicing.
  • Collaborate on cycle count and physical inventory programs, including count planning, variance investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Coordinate annual inventory counts with external auditors.
  • Main audit contact for internal and external audits.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports on COGS and inventory as needed.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting as requested.

Profile & Other Information

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Inventory accuracy rate, including alignment between physical inventory, ERP inventory subledger, and general ledger balances.
  • Timely completion of month-end and quarter-end inventory close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and management reporting.
  • This role requires strong time management and the ability to meet recurring close, audit, and inventory deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Aging, excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory exposure, including reserve adequacy and trend analysis.
  • Standard cost and purchase price variance accuracy, including timely identification, explanation, and escalation of material cost, labor, overhead, usage, mix, and yield variances.
  • Cycle count and physical inventory performance, including count completion, variance resolution, root-cause analysis, and corrective action closure.
  • Audit readiness, measured by timely completion of control evidence, low repeat findings, and effective remediation of control gaps.

The US base salary range for this position is $112,130.00 - $140,171.00 + bonus + benefits. While it is uncommon for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the pay range, all compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each hire. The final offer may vary depending on a combination of factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including inventory accounting, cost accounting, or supply chain finance experience.
  • Strong understanding of inventory valuation, standard costing, purchase price variances, manufacturing variances, inventory reserves, COGS, and subledger-to-general-ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, fluctuation analysis, and management reporting.
  • Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or inventory-intensive environment preferred, with exposure to cycle counts, physical inventory, inventory movement, ERP transactions, and inventory controls.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit support, and documentation standards
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems and inventory/costing modules required.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify process gaps, resolve discrepancies, and communicate findings clearly to Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet close deadlines, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
