Job Description for: Staff Accountant

Time commitment:  40 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Reports to:  Controller

Status:  Salary, Exempt

Mission: Support financial operations through accurate transaction processing, reporting, and administrative financial support.

We are looking for a driven self-starter. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of basic accounting principles and will play a supporting role in the accounting department. This is a growing and innovative company with tasks requiring innovative and technical thinking.

General Accounting Duties:

• Accounts Payable and employee reimbursements
• Insurance Accounting - Receiving, processing and recording payments from insurance.
• Regular communication with clients resolving questions and concerns about billing and insurance
• Regular communication with school district contacts regarding invoicing 
• Work closely with 3rd party insurance companies and billing company
• Commercial Credit Card accounting
• Other department duties as needed

Requirements

 Computer Experience:

• Basic computer skills and experienced with standard business and accounting software
• Experience with Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred

Other Skills / Experience required:

• Understanding of accounting principles and concepts
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
• Must be self-motivated and a team player
