Senior Manager PR - Italy and Strategic Projects (All Genders)

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Zalando is looking for a PR Manager – Italy & Strategic Projects (m/f/d) to strengthen the Consumer PR team at our headquarters in Berlin. Our team consists of international PR experts both for Local and Global Consumer PR. In your dual-focus role, you will contribute to developing and executing innovative, culturally relevant, and insight-led PR strategies for the Italian market, while also driving support across major global campaigns and cross-functional PR projects.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• As part of the Consumer PR team, you will play a pivotal role in driving our brand narrative across one of our key markets - Italy - while actively contributing to overarching global campaigns.
• You’ll know what’s hot in Italian culture and fashion, creating game-changing strategies for how Zalando joins and leads conversations around locally relevant topics. Challenging traditional concepts of PR, you’ll lead local media relations, agency collaboration, and initiatives such as local partnerships and activations for Italy.
• Equally, you will bring strong operational strength to the broader team by driving global campaign rollouts, cross-market toolkits, and special PR projects. You understand the business of fashion and retail. Creative thinking and forward planning are essential, but you’ll also be organized and methodical, managing projects from initial concept creation through to campaign execution, KPI tracking, budgeting, reporting, and analysis.
• You are a true team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, driven to introduce fresh formats. As a natural relationship builder, you can navigate a dual scope and steer multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced matrix organization without losing sight of your defined targets.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• Relevant experience in PR or brand communications (7+ years) focused on the Italian market, ideally in the fashion, e-commerce, or lifestyle industry.
• Native or fluent (C2) proficiency in Italian is a plus and full professional fluency in English.
• Strong collaboration skills as well as a proven track record in integrated project and campaign management.
• Motivation to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly and flexibly to change while managing dual priorities (market leadership vs. global project support).
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a deep understanding of Italian media, key journalists, opinion leaders and consumer expectations.
• A strong sense of ownership, responsibility, innovation, and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, empathy, curiosity, creative thinking, strengths in execution, and the ability to work as a team player.
• Confidence in steering local PR agencies, cross-functional processes, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
