Technical Sales Representative

Description

Lamjen Inc. is seeking a motivated Technical Sales Representative to join our team. This position will play an important role in developing new business, managing existing customer relationships, and coordinating customer requirements with Lamjen's estimating, planning, quality, and production teams.

The Technical Sales Representative will serve as a key point of contact between Lamjen and its customers, helping ensure that opportunities are effectively developed, quoted, communicated, and carried through production and delivery.

This position reports directly to Custom Group Industries Sales Manager. Custom Group Industries consists of three related companies (Custom Engineering Co, Venango Machine Co, and Lamjen Inc). 

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, technical background, and overall fit for the position. The scope and level of the role may also be tailored based on the selected candidate's previous sales, engineering, and manufacturing experience.  Includes automobile allowance and bonus.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in sales, manufacturing, machining, engineering, estimating, account management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple customers, quotations, and projects simultaneously.
• CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or other relevant industrial experience is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations, trade shows, and industry events as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development & Sales: Develop new sales opportunities, soliciting new potential accounts, and identifying new opportunities within existing accounts.
• Account Management: Manage and strengthen relationships with customers by serving as a primary point of contact for RFQs, quotations, order status, delivery requirements, and other customer needs. 
• Customer Visits & Relationship Development: Build and maintain customer relationships through regular communication, customer visits, facility tours, and technical discussions. 
• RFQ & Quotation Support: Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, and commercial requirements. Collaborate with Lamjen's Estimating and Planning teams to develop accurate, competitive, and timely quotations. Follow up on submitted quotations and maintain visibility into open opportunities and customer feedback.
• Internal Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with Estimating/Planning, the Production Manager, Plant Manager, Quality, and other internal departments to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and projects remain aligned with quoted scope, schedules, and delivery expectations. Proactively communicate potential schedule or project issues and assist in developing solutions when necessary.
• Marketing & Sales Collaboration: Support Lamjen's marketing activities, including website and digital content, sales materials, trade shows, conferences, and other promotional initiatives. 
• Collaboration: With the Custom Engineering Sales Team on joint marketing efforts, trade shows, customer development initiatives, cross-selling opportunities, and other activities that support the broader Custom Group organization.
• Sales & Customer Reporting: Maintain accurate records of customer activity, quotations, opportunities, follow-ups, and relevant account information. Provide updates to the Custom Group Industries Sales Management regarding key opportunities, customer developments, upcoming requirements, and potential risks.
• Perform other duties as required, assigned, or directed.
