Your Role in Carbery's Success
The Utilities Specialist is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utility systems and environmental and energy services. This role monitors, maintains, and coordinates utility infrastructure, ensures compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, responds to operational issues, and works with internal stakeholders and external service providers to minimize disruptions.How You Will Contribute
• Monitor the performance and availability of utility systems and services.
• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and repairs of utility infrastructure and equipment. Particularly environmental critical equipment such as inline TOC analysers.
• Investigate utility-related issues and implement corrective actions to restore service.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, outages, and service requests.
• Analyze utility consumption and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and utility providers to schedule work and resolve service issues.
• Support capital improvement and infrastructure projects, including planning, testing, and commissioning.
• Review utility invoices, service agreements, and performance metrics for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and operational procedures.
• Participate in emergency response activities and provide after-hours support when required.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and operational performance.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting utility operations, facilities management, plant operations, or infrastructure maintenance.
• Knowledge of utility systems such as potable water treatment, steam, HVAC, compressed air, and wastewater systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and asset management practices.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
