The Manager, Project Implementation leads a project team and is accountable for the execution of assigned projects or major project phases. The role ensures operational efficiency, cost control, timely delivery, quality, safety and compliance through effective planning, contractor management, team leadership and stakeholder coordination.Key Outcomes

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
Implement detailed project execution plans in line with approved budgets, timelines and quality requirements.
Translate project milestones into team priorities, responsibilities and work plans.
Monitor daily and weekly progress and identify deviations from schedule.
Coordinate with Project Planning and Development to ensure design feasibility and constructability.
Review project risks and implement corrective or recovery actions.
Ensure the project team understands delivery expectations and escalation requirements.
Team Leadership and Performance Management
Lead Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Site Supervisors and other assigned team members.
Allocate work and clarify accountability across the project team.
Monitor individual and team performance against agreed deliverables.
Provide coaching, feedback and guidance to team members.
Address performance or capability gaps promptly.
Ensure effective communication, collaboration and accountability within the team.
Site Coordination and Contractor Management
Oversee site construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Manage contractors, suppliers and specialist trades for timely and quality-driven performance.
Review contractor resource deployment, productivity and progress.
Verify progress claims against actual work completed.
Address contractor performance issues and implement corrective actions.
Escalate major contractual or commercial issues through the appropriate channels.
Quality Control and Compliance
Conduct and oversee regular site inspections.
Ensure construction works comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure defects, non-conformance and workmanship concerns are addressed.
Monitor QLASSIC, quality, inspection and defect performance.
Ensure compliance with CIDB, OSHA and local authority requirements.
Hold team members and contractors accountable for quality and compliance.
Problem-Solving and Risk Management
Identify project risks early and implement mitigation plans.
Resolve technical, operational and stakeholder issues affecting progress.
Assess project issues in terms of schedule, cost, quality, safety and contractual exposure.
Approve routine corrective actions within delegated authority.
Escalate major issues with clear facts, options and recommendations.
Ensure agreed decisions are implemented and monitored.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
Provide structured project updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Lead project coordination meetings where required.
Ensure collaboration between site teams, consultants and internal functions.
Address concerns raised by authorities, consultants and clients.
Maintain transparent and timely reporting of project performance and risk.
Ensure records and data supporting management decisions are reliable.
Resource and Budget Management
Support or lead budget preparation and cost tracking for assigned projects.
Monitor project costs, variations and resource utilisation.
Ensure effective allocation of manpower, materials and equipment.
Review progress claims and variation orders for accuracy.
Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost efficiency.
Escalate significant budget or cost concerns promptly.
Operational Improvement and Data Use
Use progress, quality, safety, productivity and cost data to evaluate project performance.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, coordination and delivery.
Implement approved process improvements and digital tools.
Ensure project teams apply SOPs and agreed systems consistently.
Conduct lessons-learned reviews and share good practices.
Encourage appropriate use of AI and digital tools to improve reporting and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Additional certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2), Construction Safety (CIDB, OSHA), or Quality Management (CIDB, QLASSIC) are an advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, site supervision, and contractor coordination within construction or property development.
Hands-on experience managing high-rise, township, and industrial park developments.
Proven track record of handling on-site challenges and driving quality outcomes.
