The Global Data Enablement and Operations team within S&P Dow Jones Indices drives operational excellence and strategic data enablement across the enterprise, managing the complete data lifecycle from acquisition through provisioning. As the Enterprise Capabilities hub of the SPDJI Data Operating model, we serve as the central coordination point for data product partnerships across the organization. Responsibilities and Impact:
Lead end-to-end data lifecycle governance across SPDJI, from third-party acquisition to redistribution, serving as the executive authority on data governance and vendor licensing compliance
Drive strategic implementation of the Data Product Framework and serve as primary executive lead for Enterprise Data Organization partnerships across the division
Oversee global vendor relationships and procurement governance, managing market data contracts, SLAs, and vendor risk assessments to optimize commercial outcomes
Direct cross-functional initiatives spanning Index Design, Product, Commercial, and Technology teams to align data enablement with business strategy
Establish data product analytics and reporting capabilities, delivering actionable insights through data catalogs, usage analytics, and transformation metrics
Set organizational vision and develop high-performing global teams across Data Governance, Product Quality, Operations Excellence, and Content Acquisition
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,481 to $247,345. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and equity.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Proven expertise managing complex data lifecycles, implementing data governance policies, and overseeing external market data vendor relationships
Demonstrated leadership experience directing cross-functional programs and operational transformations across business and technology functions
Leadership capability with proven ability to translate enterprise strategy into actionable vision while coaching and developing global teams
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with ability to articulate complex data and technical concepts to executive stakeholders
Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative approach to building consensus across matrixed organizational structures
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Management, Finance, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of progressive experience in market data management or data governance within financial services
Advanced degree (Master's, MBA) or relevant industry certifications such as CDMP, FISD Financial Information Associate, or similar data management credentials
Deep expertise in index industry dynamics, enterprise data architecture, and data catalog platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or similar solutions
Hands-on experience implementing enterprise content acquisition frameworks, vendor due diligence protocols, and third-party risk management processes
Demonstrated agility in navigating shifting priorities and leveraging data analytics platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools to drive strategic insights
