Job Description:

This role leads the Finance Strategy, Portfolio, Investment & Value Realization Management capability, providing strategic leadership, governance, investment oversight, portfolio performance management, and executive decision support across Finance's transformation, regulatory, operational, and strategic change agenda. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring Finance investments are prioritized effectively, governed consistently, executed efficiently, and deliver measurable business value and outcomes aligned to enterprise and Finance strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy:

  • Support the development and evolution of the Future Finance target state and roadmap
  • Drive strategic assessments of Finance capabilities and maturity, identifying opportunities to simplify, modernize, automate, and improve effectiveness across the function.
  • Lead strategic reviews and transformation studies

Portfolio Management:

  • Lead the end-to-end Finance-wide portfolio management lifecycle, including portfolio intake, investment prioritization, sequencing, capacity planning, resource allocation, and strategic portfolio optimization.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to Finance executives on portfolio strategy, investment decisions, funding allocation, delivery risks, performance, and value realization outcomes.
  • Lead enterprise-wide portfolio governance, executive reporting, and performance management, providing actionable insights on portfolio health, strategic alignment, dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead Finance portfolio financial management, including investment planning, budget management, forecasting, benefits tracking, and cost optimization to maximize return on investment and delivery effectiveness. Evaluate competing investment opportunities and recommend portfolio trade-offs
  • Drive portfolio transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making across the organization
  • Establish and maintain enterprise-leading portfolio management frameworks, governance standards, controls, methodologies, tools, and performance measures that drive consistency, scalability, transparency, and execution excellence across Finance.
  • Build and influence relationships across Finance, Technology, Risk, Operations, and enterprise enablement functions to drive alignment, accelerate delivery, and remove barriers to execution.
  • Establish portfolio KPIs, health indicators, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Establish project level reporting, scorecards and governance of proactive project management tracking and reporting
  • Oversee and review project quality and delivery to ensure program objectives are met and projects are managed effectively for on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Oversee executive reporting, dashboards, portfolio analytics, and performance reviews.
  • Assess sustainment and stabilization plans for all projects and ensure project delivery executes on on-going project support in BAU and lessons learnt through implementation
  • Monitor portfolio performance and benefits achievement, ensuring Finance investments deliver intended outcomes and remain aligned to strategic priorities, regulatory commitments, and enterprise objectives.

Value Realization:

  • Lead Finance Enterprise Value Realization, including benefits tracking, value realization governance, outcome measurement, and executive reporting across all Finance initiatives and investments.
  • Conduct portfolio-wide benefits and value realization assessments to evaluate achievement of strategic, financial, operational, regulatory, and transformation outcomes, and identify opportunities to improve investment performance.
  • Hold initiative sponsors and program leaders accountable for maintaining clear benefit commitments, measurement frameworks, and realization plans throughout the investment lifecycle.
  • Assess portfolio impacts, dependencies, sequencing considerations and resource requirements
  • Facilitate executive governance forums and investment review processes, providing recommendations on prioritization, funding decisions, risk mitigation, portfolio trade-offs, and value optimization.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in program delivery or transformation leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership of enterprise-scale portfolios and transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulatory environment and Finance disciplines
  • Executive-level experience in program delivery, portfolio management, or transformation within a large financial institution
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-enterprise programs under regulatory and operational pressure
  • Strong knowledge of Finance frameworks, governance, and regulatory expectations
  • Experience in financial management, budgeting, and portfolio governance
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate in a matrixed environment
