Responsible for managing the graduate program in collaboration with the Graduate Chairperson. This includes handling application procedures, monitoring the academic progress of current graduate students, and conducting external surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. Additionally, oversee various aspects of the undergraduate program. This involves overseeing the printing and grading of exams for major courses, managing textbook orders and desk copies, and processing special grade reports. Furthermore, this position will ensure that courses for both the graduate and undergraduate programs are regularly updated in the appropriate university systems. Regularly update the university Bulletin and make certain that all program and department related changes are accurately reflected in the program materials and documentation.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and performs daily tasks to ensure functioning of administrative office. Assists in development/coordination of programs/projects.
- Assists with developing budgets, monitoring expenditures, enters personnel/payroll information in Workday and runs reports; performs online systems entry of documents or data involving accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, etc.; may approve financial documents such as check requests, journals, purchase orders, travel documents, etc.
- Provides advising (answering general questions) to students, faculty; enters/updates student registration and information into appropriate databases. Assists with new course listings, provides special formatting for course offerings, plans and administers student advising reporting process.
- Plans logistics and provides administrative support for program courses, meetings and events including all details associated with event; negotiates with vendors; oversees, troubleshoots and resolves special situations that arise during event. Manages event budget.
- Coordinates, manages and updates communications for school/department/center including verbal, written and electronic communications and websites which may include initiating/reviewing drafts of various communications.
- Provides some general administrative support including scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
