Description

The Senior Specialist Continuous Skills Development (CSD), Manufacturing supports the deployment and day to day execution of established skills standards, processes, and systems within manufacturing plants. Reporting to the CSD Manager, this role focuses on hands on execution, data quality, and frontline enablement, ensuring standards are applied consistently and accurately at the plant level. The role plays a critical part in embedding standard ways of working, supporting skill tracking and reporting, and enabling supervisors and HR partners to use skills frameworks effectively in workforce and development decisions.

Why This Role Matters

  • Drives the plant’s workforce capability strategy by developing and executing technical, operational, and soft skills training programs that strengthen manufacturing performance.

  • Leads talent development initiatives across the employee lifecycle, including training and certifications, onboarding, development planning, internship programs, engagement, and internal communications.

  • Influences stakeholders at all levels, from frontline operators to plant leadership, to drive organizational and cultural transformation, improve workforce readiness, and deliver measurable learning and certification outcomes.

What you'll do

Standards Execution & Plant Support:

  • Execute established global skills frameworks, role profiles, proficiency standards, and learning processes within assigned manufacturing plants.

  • Ensure consistent application of global standards, processes, and governance requirements across shifts, teams, and roles.

  • Assist in translating standard requirements into practical plant level routines and tools.

  • Identify flag execution gaps, inconsistencies, or usability issues to ensure timely resolution.

Frontline Enablement & Adoption:

  • Support supervisors, team leaders, and HR partners in understanding how to apply skills standards in staffing, development, and performance discussions.

  • Provide clear guidance and job aids to support frontline adoption of skills processes.

  • Reinforce standard usage through training support, follow up, and day to day assistance.

  • Act as a first point of contact for skills-related processes and provide hands-on support to ensure consistent execution.

Process, Systems & Data Accuracy:

  • Execute standardized processes for capability assessments, updates, tracking, and reporting using global HR and learning systems.

  • Maintain accurate, consistent, and timely capability and skills data in alignment with global standards and plant operational requirements.

  • Support audits, reviews, governance routines, and compliance activities related to capability management and workforce readiness.

  • Support effective utilization of Capability Matrix and digital tools to improve visibility of competency gaps and capability progression.

  • Identify improvement opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve system adoption.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner closely with the CSD Lead, Manufacturing HR, HR Specialists, frontline leaders, and plant stakeholders to support effective CSD execution.

  • Provide feedback on process gaps, operational challenges, and execution issues based on plant experience and shopfloor needs.

  • Support capability gap closure and continuous improvement initiatives through disciplined execution, standardization, and timely issue escalation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reinforce standard ways of working and sustain capability development practices across the plant

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience in manufacturing or operational environments strongly preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, execution focus, and customer service mindset.

  • Exposure to standardized processes, learning systems, or workforce data management.

  • Working understanding of manufacturing plant environments, operational roles, and frontline workforce skill requirements.

  • Strong ability to execute standardized skills and learning processes accurately, consistently, and in alignment with global requirements.

  • Capability to use HR and learning systems effectively, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely updates.

  • Strong service orientation with the ability to support supervisors, HR partners, and peers through clear communication and practical guidance.
