• Our Investments business is a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.
  

About the Department 

The Digital Engineering team designs, builds and evolves the digital platforms that power Aberdeen’s public websites and digital services. Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, UX specialists and business stakeholders, the team delivers secure, scalable and client-focused solutions that support Aberdeen’s strategic ambitions. Collaboration, continuous improvement and engineering excellence are central to how the team works, helping to enable our clients to be better investors. 

About the Role 

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Digital), you will play a leading role in building and enhancing modern digital platforms using React, Next.js, .NET and Microsoft Azure. You will work across front-end applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure and enterprise integrations, contributing to technical design, architecture and engineering standards while remaining hands-on in delivery. This is an opportunity to influence technology modernisation, mentor fellow engineers and improve digital experiences used by clients and customers. Based in Edinburgh, you will help drive innovation, resilience and operational excellence while continuing to develop your own expertise and career.

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain modern web applications, APIs and digital integrations that deliver secure, scalable and high-performing client experiences. 

• Lead technical design decisions, influence architecture and ensure alignment with engineering, security and accessibility standards. 

• Drive cloud-native development within Microsoft Azure, including CI/CD automation, observability and operational excellence. 

• Collaborate across product, UX, architecture and business teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions and technology modernisation initiatives. 

• Investigate complex production issues, lead root cause analysis and continuously improve platform resilience and service performance. 

• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering capability, reusable platform services and cross-team improvement initiatives. 

About the Candidate 

• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js for modern web application development. 

• Experience building and supporting REST APIs and backend services using C# and .NET. 

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud-native services and identity integrations. 

• Knowledge of Git, GitHub Actions, automation tooling and modern software delivery practices. 

• Strong understanding of accessibility, SEO, security, performance optimisation and SQL. 

• Excellent communication, problem-solving and mentoring skills with a collaborative mindset. 

Desirable criteria: Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, Sitecore XM Cloud, Vercel, Playwright, Storybook, GraphQL, Marketing Cloud, Aprimo, Seismic, Sitecore Search, CodeQL, SonarQube and experience of enterprise-scale digital platforms.
