Are you an experienced project manager with a strong customer focus and the ability to lead complex capital equipment projects from order intake through warranty completion?
In this role, you will be responsible for leading assigned projects in accordance with Valmet's Project Execution Model. You will ensure contractual commitments are fulfilled, project objectives are achieved, and customer expectations are met while managing project profitability, delivery schedules, safety, quality, and overall execution. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the customer and coordinates internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities
Serve as the primary customer contact for the entire project scope, including coordination with external partners, and maintain a proactive customer relationship throughout the project.
Manage contractual obligations, change management activities, contract amendments, milestone certificates, and other project deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.
Lead project execution by establishing the project organization, coordinating resources, managing schedules, budgets, risks, opportunities, and project performance.
Coordinate activities across Valmet units, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure delivery, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
Monitor project financial performance, including forecasts, revenue recognition, customer payments, invoicing approvals, and profitability.
Oversee site activities before, during, and after installation and commissioning, including warranty period follow-up and performance verification.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, applicable regulations, customer standards, and Valmet policies.
Lead project teams to achieve project goals while driving effective communication, collaboration, and lessons learned throughout project execution.
Expectations for you
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Pulp and Paper Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Minimum of 4 years of industry-related experience.
Experience participating in or leading capital equipment projects involving multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and contractual documentation related to project changes.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn web-based reporting and ERP systems, including Power BI and custom systems.
Project management certifications such as PMP are considered an advantage.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Willingness to travel as required, typically 25% and up to 50% during certain periods.
