The Samsung Mobile UX team is seeking a highly motivated UX analyst with strong project management skills. The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of the design cycle from research, requirements gathering, to design iteration, validation, and QA. In the role, the candidate will own the UX design aspect of a product’s development process. They will review and analyze the latest Samsung UX, deliver UX feedback with alternative designs to Samsung designers, and lead communications with North American mobile carriers as well as Samsung teams based in South Korea. In addition, they will be responsible for tracking, managing and resolving any UX related issues raised during the lifecycle of the product.
The candidate should possess a keen eye for good UX design with an ability to spot issues and generate ideas for improvement. The candidate will maintain quality from a project execution perspective, with the ability to identify risks and provide tactical support wherever appropriate. They will need to be aware of a project’s schedule well-being and risks at all times, manage meetings, anticipate roadblocks, and keep stakeholders updated with a project’s status. The candidate is expected to have excellent written and verbal communication to effectively communicate across multiple divisions and teams.
Role and Responsibilities
Position Objective
- Communicate device UX (Samsung One UI) with carriers, gather feedback, work closely with designers in S. Korea to enhance Samsung device experience.
- Review and analyze UX in early phases of development and deliver relevant feedback.
- Communicate and cooperate with counterparts of internal teams such as product design, research, engineering, and marketing as well as external partners, such as telecommunication operators and external consultants.
- Ensure that the UI development results meet market (consumer) demand, technical specifications, and carrier requirements.
- Analyze UX of competing mobile devices as well as market trends in mobile UX.
- Conduct design research and propose new concepts with mockups.
- Conduct group usability studies and document results and analysis of the studies.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industry experience or 1+ years with a master’s degree required. Master's degree preferred in Human factors, Human computer interactions, Interaction Design, Usability engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Information Technology.
- Deep knowledge of application architecture basic concepts, software design process, and UI/UX design deliverables.
- Experience in designing Mobile application and involvement from research to delivering design artifacts
- Strong time and project management skills under tight deadlines managing multiple projects at the same time.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams reporting to multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and strong ownership
- Design, research experience is required.
- Working knowledge of usability testing
- Knowledge/experience in working with design and communication tools: Adobe, Sketch or other prototyping tools. Skilled in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Heavy communication role vs. hands-on design role.
- Ability to apply strong critical thinking skills to design critiques and suggest alternative solutions
- Deep understanding of design, product, UX
- Ability to accurately identify follow up action items (self-starters)
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration across multiple teams (R&D, TPM/QA, Sales/Marketing, Legal and more)
- Skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Be coachable
- Great presentation and communication skills
- Comfort with ambiguity

WASHINGTON STATE
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $105,500 and $130,500. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
