POSITION OVERVIEW:

Apollo is searching for a hands-on business focused technologist to advance the technology capabilities of the Investment Accounting system. The individual will work closely with the Middle Office, Asset Servicing Operations users as well as key stakeholders in Fund Finance and other Technology teams in Investment Operations and Data Engineering to drive programs, projects, and small business enhancements around the Investment Accounting platform called VPM. The activities will involve Requirement gathering and analysis, development, Integration with downstream systems, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of related initiatives. This individual will be focused on a variety of projects across our post-trade and asset servicing platforms.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• manage complex programs and projects through the design and implementation of strategic initiatives.
• Serve as a SME on Apollo's internal Investment Accounting systems (VPM).
• Work with middle office professionals to understand their process and needs and collaborate with other development teams to implement solutions and manage releases/deployments to UAT and prod.
• Work with Apollo internal resources as well as application vendors to establish the appropriate development approach, budget and timelines.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build professional relationships on an ongoing basis.
• Identify and resolve program blockers as needed to ensure timely and successful delivery of strategic enhancements and capabilities.
• Partner with the business to ensure SLAs and other key metrics are met or exceeded. Analyze the support issues and come up with permanent solution to prevent its recurrence.
• Identify best practices for optimizing efficiencies and system use both internally and externally.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8 to 12​ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches, including analysis and development and automated testing/ automated build and deployment of complex systems in finance domain.
• Deep understanding of domain – who is able to come up with initial build without waiting for the full specifications and who can refine the code in agile way, based on the changes suggested.
• Strong experience with Development methodology, understanding of design principles and understanding of AI tools to do the development.
• Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills enabling comprehension and development of complex technical and business issues, topics, and plans.
• Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the technical staff.
• Willingness to learn new technologies required to develop the ecosystem, ability to understand the domain and ability to contribute as a techno functional analyst.
• Knowledge of Investment accounting, batch jobs, database skills are essential.
• Knowledge of Investment Accounting tools like VPM, Geneva is definite plus.
• Must be self-directed and motivated while being a solid team player with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to thrive in a high-intensity and faced paced environment.
