Job Description Summary

The Supplier Quality Technical Leader for Aero Package and Industrialization serves as the critical link between Supplier Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, and Quality organizations to drive effective supplier development, product qualification, and ongoing supplier oversight. This role supports Strategic Sourcing objectives by proactively identifying and managing quality risks, qualification gaps, and resource needs, enabling informed, risk-based business decisions while ensuring the application of standard qualification processes and providing technical leadership for supplier quality initiatives, audits, problem-solving efforts, and continuous improvement programs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Support the supplier selection & on-boarding process including assessment of supplier’s capacity and technical & manufacturing capabilities through holistic process audits and lead/execute first piece qualifications including design reviews, special process audits, test witness, and in-process and final product inspections. 
• Support supplier assessment and development by participation in pre-purchase order award meetings, contributing to supplier performance ratings, leading quarterly supplier quality review meetings, and initiating supplier quality improvement plans when appropriate.
• Team with engineering in leading supplier project kick-off meetings, developing supplier surveillance plans, executing supplier requirement review & design review meetings, and developing/reviewing supplier inspection/test plans & special process procedures.
• Plan & execute a data & risk assessment driven audit strategy for your scope of supplier assignments that includes holistic process audits, special process audits and product inspections to verify compliance to GE specifications & technical regulations/standards with timely audit report issuance and audit tracker updates.
• Support the release of material for shipment by ensuring all supplier deviation requests are closed, reviewing end of manufacturing reports, verifying the shipment is unaffected by any containment activity, and authorizing shipment once all requirements have been met.
• Actively manage supplier technical deviations, non-conformances, & field complaints, through dedicated follow up on supplier audit findings, leading RCAs/RCIs with rigorous follow up on CAPA Implementation/effectiveness, conducting thorough containment, supporting vendor recovery with concise liability comments, and routinely monitoring supplier liable failure data to drive continuous improvements ensuring all the aforementioned activities are in strict compliance with GEV supplier quality QMS procedures.
• Actively support and drive all supplier quality improvement initiatives including the planning, execution, CAPA follow-up and report issuance of supplier holistic audits, supporting supplier PFMEA/DFMEA development, supporting supplier implementation of the designated supplier quality representative (DSQR) program, and facilitating the supplier technical advisor site installation & commissioning program including lessons learned dissemination.
• Relentlessly monitor and manage all supplier quality Key Process Indicators (KPI)
• Act as Commodity Coordinator for your commodity assignments acting as first point of contact for interface functions, supporting SQE technical competency development & lessons-learned implementation, supporting Project team ITO activities, participating in Global Quality Value Stream activities, leading and coaching major customer issue resolution & RCAs, and preparing standard project quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or Quality Engineering, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or college.
• Significant experience with supplier qualification processes (PPAP or equivalent).
• 8+ year working experience in quality, operations/supply chain or project management, preferably in Power Generation/Aerospace industry, with proficiency understanding technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Strong understanding of gas turbine design and components
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in the production of the intended assigned equipment (e.g. casting, forging, welding, heat treatment, coating, machining, assembly, NDT, as applicable).
• Strong safety, compliance, quality, and lean mindset, with proven use of the industrial quality toolkit for risk assessment, root cause analysis, problem solving, and manufacturing process controls.
• Capacity to organize working time in global team setting and willingness to adjust it based on meetings with stakeholders in different time zones and flexibility/willingness to travel to supplier facilities up to 30% (globally)

• You possess excellent written and verbal English language skills, allowing effective communication across all organizational levels, departments, and functions.
• You are someone who is competent and skilled in the interpretation of engineering drawings, models & standards.
• You hold certifications in special processes such as coatings (NACE), welding (CWI), non-destructive testing (NDT Level 1-3) and/or certifications/evidence of training in problem solving methodologies (5-why, 8D root cause analysis) and quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor training.
• You are someone who is proactive, not easily discouraged, humble, open, collaborative, diligent, respectful, assertive, customer focused, goal oriented with a passion for continuous personal growth/improvement.
• You have experience in the operation, design or inspection of power industry equipment including gas turbine components (compressor, combustor, turbine), fluids, mechanical, or electrical skids.
• High level of understanding for gas turbines/aerospace equipment and components
• You have experience interfacing with customers and senior leadership including the preparation, delivery and sometimes presentation of supplier quality related activities

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $108,800.00 and $181,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
