The Position
The Engineering Technician supports Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing operations by assisting with process development, testing, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. This position is responsible for equipment maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, collecting and analyzing process data, supporting manufacturing processes, conducting engineering evaluations, and assisting with the implementation of process improvements that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
The Engineering Technician serves as a liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, providing technical support, process documentation, training, and troubleshooting assistance to ensure production objectives are achieved. This role applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks and works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature while recognizing the need for occasional deviation from established practices.
As with all employees, the Engineering Technician will complete hazardous waste and chemical handling training upon hire and actively participate in ongoing environmental, health, and safety training programs.
For second shift positions, initial onboarding and training will be conducted on first shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing operations by conducting engineering tests, process evaluations, and procedural control activities.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues; identify root causes and partner with Engineering to implement corrective actions.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) activities on manufacturing equipment.
- Execute production trials and assist Engineering with process validation, evaluation, and standardization efforts.
- Conduct process control activities, including measurements, testing, and data collection.
- Monitor manufacturing output and support failure analysis investigations.
- Collect, analyze, and document process measurement data to support engineering decisions.
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Monitor process control charts, maintain material movement spreadsheets, and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD documentation.
- Support training initiatives and provide instruction to manufacturing personnel on equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Follow all safety procedures related to chemical handling, hazardous waste management, and environmental compliance.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
Education
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Experience
- Typically requires 1–3 years of related manufacturing, technical, or engineering support experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, processes, or production operations preferred.
- Previous equipment maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with process control, troubleshooting, and data analysis preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to safely work around manufacturing equipment, chemicals, and production processes.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment, including machinery, chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
Environmental, Health, and Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Safely handle, use, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous waste in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in required EHS and hazardous materials training.
- Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, and near misses.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
