We are looking for a dependable Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our team! This is a hands-on position supporting our Paint and Machine Shop with material handling, industrial assembly, painting, and general shop support.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating a forklift, working around large industrial equipment, helping assemble industrial pieces and components, and jumping in wherever needed to keep projects moving efficiently.
Essential Job Functions:
- Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, move, and position large materials, equipment, and industrial components.
- Move and stage materials throughout the facility and between shop areas.
- Assist with the assembly of industrial equipment, components, and fabricated pieces.
- Assist the Paint Shop with preparing, moving, and painting industrial components and equipment.
- Perform basic surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and other painting preparation as needed.
- Blast tending.
- Properly secure and position large or heavy items for movement.
- Help organize materials, parts, tools, and completed work.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly operate equipment.
- Assist other shop personnel and departments as needed.
- Perform other duties and shop support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Experience moving large or heavy materials.
- Experience in industrial assembly, painting, fabrication, manufacturing, or a machine shop.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy industrial/shop environment.
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment, machinery, paint, and industrial materials.
- Ability to use basic hand tools.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as needed.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Dependable, hardworking, and willing to assist wherever needed.
