Job Summary
The Project Manager – Spend Optimization Services (SOS) is responsible for the successful execution of assigned customer engagements and internal initiatives from initiation through completion. This role owns the day-to-day management of project execution, including scope, schedule, communications, risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and stakeholder alignment. The Project Manager ensures assigned projects are delivered within agreed expectations and in accordance with SHI delivery standards.The Project Manager serves as the primary project management point of contact for assigned engagements and is expected to manage execution directly, drive project team follow-through, maintain project documentation, communicate status, and manage risks and issues through resolution or escalation. This role operates independently on assigned projects while escalating decisions, blockers, or delivery concerns that require leadership input. This position reports to the Project Management Operations Manager and may be based in Austin, TX; Somerset, NJ; or Milton Keynes, UK, with travel required as business needs dictate.
Role Description
Own the day-to-day execution of assigned customer engagements and internal initiatives from initiation through closure, ensuring project work is managed in alignment with customer objectives, SHI delivery standards, and contractual expectations.
Create, manage, and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, communication cadence, and project documentation for assigned engagements.
Drive project team accountability across assigned workstreams, deliverables, dependencies, decisions, and action items to ensure work progresses according to plan.
Identify delivery challenges, determine appropriate next steps, and take action to keep assigned projects on track, escalating blockers or decisions that require leadership guidance.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, customer contacts, delivery teams, consultants, partners, and other project contributors.
Own project communications for assigned engagements, including status updates, progress summaries, key decisions, action items, risks, issues, and next steps.
Facilitate kickoff sessions, project meetings, status reviews, and follow-up discussions that support alignment, transparency, and timely decision-making.
Serve as the Responsible party for project management activities on assigned engagements, ensuring expectations, roles, responsibilities, assumptions, constraints, and success measures are documented, understood, and actively managed.
Monitor project execution metrics and overall engagement health, identifying emerging risks, issues, and delivery trends early, taking appropriate project-level action, and escalating complex concerns that require leadership intervention.
Support engagement financial management activities for assigned projects, including project forecasting, resource tracking, milestone validation, change request administration, and timely identification of potential budget impacts.
Manage project scope changes in accordance with established governance processes, documenting impacts, supporting approval requirements, and communicating approved changes to stakeholders.
Lead follow-up on corrective action plans and recovery activities for assigned engagements by clarifying ownership, tracking progress, and coordinating project-level actions through resolution.
Apply PMO methodologies, project management disciplines, reporting standards, documentation practices, and delivery governance consistently across assigned engagements.
Contribute to PMO continuous improvement, lessons learned, onboarding support, and delivery best practices as needed.

Skill Level Requirements
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support productivity and task execution
Solid project management skills with the ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and with stakeholder alignment
Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to plan and execute projects effectively
Experience facilitating Scrum practices to support team performance and delivery outcomes
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet) for planning, tracking, and reporting
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and resolve conflicts
Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking to support project and business objectives
Other Requirements
4+ years of IT project management experience, preferably in professional services, consulting, ITAM, SAM, software licensing, or IT service delivery.
Experience serving as the responsible project manager for customer engagements or internal projects from initiation through closure, with ownership of project execution, communications, risks, issues, dependencies, and outcomes.
Ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, stakeholders, dependencies, and competing priorities.
Project governance skills, including planning, scheduling, reporting, RAID management, escalation support, and decision tracking.
Experience working with internal stakeholders, customer contacts, delivery teams, consultants, and partners.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar platforms and Microsoft 365 tools.
Familiarity with software licensing, IT infrastructure, ITAM, SAM, and professional services delivery.
Experience producing executive-ready project reporting and communications, including status reports, RAID logs, project dashboards, meeting summaries, and customer-facing updates.
Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, ITIL, or equivalent certification.
Working knowledge of the IT lifecycle, including licensing, purchasing, deployment, optimization, renewal, and vendor considerations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
Experience managing project-level process improvement, project recovery, corrective action planning, or delivery governance activities within assigned engagements.
Experience providing direction to project team members, coordinating shared workstreams, or supporting onboarding activities.
Second language proficiency, preferably French.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of IT project management experience.
2+ years of experience in SAM, ITAM, consulting, professional services, or related service delivery environments preferred.
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
