The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a division in the Economic Development Board tasked to re-energise Singapore’s efforts in building a strong and extensive ecosystem of overseas Family, Friends, Fans (3F) for Singapore. SGN leads the Whole-Of-Government effort to coordinate across agencies and strengthen our collective networks, whose skills, affinity and influence could help build linkages to global business and enhance Singapore’s international mindshare as a leading globally-connected city.
The Strategy, Planning and Analytics team (SPA) oversees SGN’s corporate strategy, work planning and data analytics functions. As an Assistant Manager (SPA), you will collaborate with the broader SGN team to develop and implement SGN's strategies for community building and diaspora engagement. You will partner with stakeholders to steer the creation of workplans to achieve SGN's objectives, as well as track corporate KPI performance. Through ongoing research and analysis, you'll stay ahead of trends that can benefit SGN.
[What you will be working on]
Strategy & Corporate Planning
Oversee secretariat duties for SGN’s Steering Committee meetings and coordinate SGN’s representation at other Whole-of-Government platforms
Conduct environmental scanning, research and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities and implications for SGN.
Support the formulation and review of SGN’s corporate strategy and strategic priorities.
Support the translation of strategic priorities into actionable workplans, initiatives and measures of success.
Develop strategy papers, management presentations and recommendations on emerging organisational issues.
Performance Management & Analytics
Monitor corporate KPIs, organisational priorities and workplan performance, and identify areas requiring further attention.
Analyse operational, engagement and customer data to surface trends, performance gaps and actionable insights.
Develop and maintain management dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau or Excel.
Translate analysis into clear insights and recommendations for management and business teams.
Strategic Projects
Support cross-functional projects addressing strategic or organisational challenges.
Apply structured problem-solving to diagnose issues, evaluate options and develop recommendations.
Identify, shape and support greenfield strategic initiatives and blue-sky projects that explore new opportunities, challenge existing approaches and strengthen SGN’s long-term relevance and impact.
Work with stakeholders across SGN, EDB and other government agencies to develop and implement solutions.
[What we are looking for]
A university degree in any discipline. Fresh graduates with relevant internship or project experience may apply.
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sense of complex or ambiguous issues.
Intellectually curious and able to research unfamiliar subjects, synthesise information and develop clear perspectives.
Comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data. Strong proficiency in Excel is expected; familiarity with Tableau, SQL, Python or other analytics tools would be advantageous.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear presentations and recommendations.
High sense of agency, responsibility and ownership, with the ability to independently manage defined workstreams.
Collaborative, with good stakeholder and project management skills and the ability to influence without formal authority.
Detail-oriented while retaining sight of the broader strategic objective.
