As a Benefits & Leave Specialist you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:
- Serves as a primary resource for team member benefits and leave inquiries, providing education and support across health, retirement, voluntary benefits, and leave programs.
- Administers benefit enrollments, eligibility, life events, Open Enrollment, FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leave, and state leave programs.
- Manages leave documentation, eligibility, deadlines, accommodations, and return-to-work activities.
- Reconciles benefit billing, payroll deductions, enrollment, eligibility, and vendor data, resolving discrepancies with internal teams and vendors.
- Uses Workday, vendor systems, and Excel to maintain records, analyze data, support reporting, and identify process improvements.
- Supports ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, audits, reporting, communications, and other compliance requirements.
- Partners with Payroll, Finance, HRIS, People Partners, Legal, leaders, and vendors to resolve issues and support benefit and leave programs.
- Maintains confidentiality, supports Elara Caring policies and priorities, and performs other duties as assigned.
What is Required?
- Requires reading, writing, and math skills normally obtained from a high school diploma or GED.
- Associate's degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) year of experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Leave Administration, Employee Services, Customer Service, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Experience navigating HRIS, case management, and benefit vendor systems.
- Experience providing customer service in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Experience utilizing HRIS, CRM, or case management systems preferred.
