Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is hiring a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (Digital Engineering Technical Lead) to join its team in Roy, Utah and support the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What You'll Get to Do:
The Sentinel Sr. Staff Digital Engineering Technical Lead will act as main technical lead within the DE SEIT.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with other Lead Systems Engineers, the Chief Engineer, and product teams to drive engineering execution, evolve model-based engineering practices, solve complex technical problems, and develop talent.
- Collaborate with other engineers within and across product teams to drive successful product definition and sell-off.
- Engage customers and senior leadership to solicit requirements and inform on the technical solution.
- Act as the delegate to the Digital Engineering SEIT Manager, such as representing the DE SEIT for Digital Engineering Review Board (DERB).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of related experience, or a Masters’ Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 10 years of related experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, current and within scope.
- Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
- 5 years of systems engineering experience throughout the program lifecycle.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in MBSE – both performing and leading teams.
- 2 years of experience with conflict management and negotiation skills.
- 5 years of experience managing technical teams and making tough decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with proven collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholder organizations.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) across all levels of the organization and strong partnership/collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience in program adoption of digital engineering concepts, methods, and processes.
- Experience with Project Lifecycle Management, manufacturing, sustainment, and sustainment are a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based environments, high performance computing, and virtualized environments.

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $249,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
