Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $105,000.00 - $123,500.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to be responsible for developing and implementing sales enablement and business development strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth and enhance the overall sales performance of Institutional Trust Division.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales enablement and business development strategy to drive growth and remain aligned with the Institutional Trust’s goals and objectives

  • Identify key areas for improvement and design initiatives to enhance sales effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, and collaborations, to expand our client base and market presence

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, industry leaders, and potential clients, leveraging networks and industry events to drive business development activities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training needs specific to use of available talent, content and supporting tools; design and deliver sales training information.

  • In partnership with the Sales Intelligence Unit, develop and update sales content, tools, and resources to enable sales professionals to effectively engage with clients and prospects throughout the sales cycle.

  • Collaborate and partner with Institutional Trust leadership and team to analyze and evaluate the existing sales processes and identify opportunities for optimization and approvement; develop and implement standardized sales processes, methodologies, and best practices to streamline operations and drive consistent results

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sales enablement and business development programs. Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management to highlight successes, areas for improvement, and actionable insights to drive revenue growth

  • Lead, mentor and motivate Business Development Officers Associates and Specialists to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs

  • Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required

  • Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectively

  • Support budget management, planning and expenditure

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of the sales enablement and business development field, including knowledge of best practices

  • Ability to stay abreast of emerging sales technologies and tools relevant to the commercial banking industry.

  • Ability to assess and implement sales enablement tools that complement our CRM to enhance sales efficiency, support CRM adoption efforts, and overall sales performance of the sales enablement and business development team

  • Strong knowledge of institutional investments, services, and industry trends

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems

  • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 6+ years sales enablement, sales training, or related experience in the investment, banking or financial services industry required

  • 4+ years leadership/supervisory experience required

  • Master’s in business administration or an advanced degree preferred

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $105,000 to $123,500 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
