Architect highly available, resilient, secure, and scalable systems using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies.
Lead the design and evolution of enterprise-scale backend platforms, reusable frameworks, APIs, shared services, and engineering capabilities used across multiple teams and products.
Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering practices that improve scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and developer productivity.
Design and optimize distributed systems for high throughput, low latency, fault tolerance, multi-region availability, and operational excellence.
Architect data processing solutions supporting both batch and real-time workloads, leveraging technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and cloud-native data platforms.
Guide the development of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing frameworks supporting operational applications, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.
Evaluate and optimize distributed compute, storage, messaging, and data processing architectures based on performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
Establish engineering practices for data quality, data governance, schema management, lineage, observability, and reliable data processing.
Partner with Data Engineering, AI/ML, Platform, Infrastructure, Product, and Architecture teams to solve complex cross-domain technical problems.
Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction across multiple engineering teams and strategic initiatives.
Make critical architectural decisions by evaluating long-term technical, operational, business, and cost implications.
Drive modernization of legacy platforms through cloud-native architectures, distributed technologies, automation, and reusable platform capabilities.
Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and raise the technical bar through architecture guidance, design reviews, technical forums, and knowledge sharing.
Influence engineering strategy and investment decisions without relying on formal organizational authority.
Drive resolution of complex production and architectural issues through structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and sustainable engineering solutions.
Maintain and communicate Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and technical strategies to provide transparency into key architectural decisions and trade-offs.
Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to Walmart's engineering ecosystem, including AI/ML, GenAI, distributed computing, and modern data platforms.
Champion engineering excellence through automation, observability, performance engineering, security, reliability, and continuous improvement.
