Responds to calls, performs ALS patient assessment and triage
Performs indicated Advanced Life Support procedures as per the appropriate EMS Protocols under the direction of the Medical Control Physician, through standing orders or radio/phone communications.
Ensures that vehicles and equipment are ready for use at the beginning and end of shift.
Operates all vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Provides high level of customer service to all patients, patient’s families, community providers, visitors, and employees.
Provides accurate, precise, timely documentation as applicable to patient care.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently, problem solve, and be able to resolve conflict while working under considerable stress.
Accommodates and trains new staff and/or students for orientation and/or educational purposes. Completes all documentation on behalf of students/orientees.
Maintains knowledge of policies, procedures, and EMS Protocols.

Licensing/Certification
- Current paramedic-level certification (required)
- RSFH requires National Registry
- Valid State Driver’s License (Required)
- ACLS – AHA (Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association) (Required)
- PALS – AHA (Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association) (Preferred upon hire, Required within 6 months of hire)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) (Preferred upon hire, Required within 6 months of hire) (Not required for RSFH)
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Successful completion of a Paramedic program at the certificate or associates degree level (Required)
Work Experience
- 1 Year of Paramedic Experience (Preferred)
Training
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) – (Preferred upon hire, Required within 1 year of hire) (Required at time of hire for RSFH)
- ICS 100 & ICS 700 (Preferred)
