Senior Director, Finance

Position Summary...

The Senior Director, Finance, leads the development and execution of strategic financial by collaborating across the enterprise to support market customer value propositions (CVP) and scaling of Global Platforms.  The Senior Director also guides talent development and promotes a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement to advance organizational objectives and deliver sustainable business results.

About the team:
The team supports scaling Global Operations and Platforms across Walmart’s markets by translating enterprise priorities into strategic execution. They deliver comprehensive financial planning, strategic analysis, and investment evaluation to drive results and optimize resource allocation. Collaborating across global and market teams, they focus on aligning customer value propositions with economic insights, prioritizing initiatives, and maximizing growth, agility, and efficiency. The team plays a critical role in linking strategy with execution through rigorous financial modeling, risk management, and communication, ensuring informed decision-making and sustained business performance in a complex, matrixed environment.

What you'll do...

• Drive Strategic Execution: Support strategy development and execution, identifying key considerations, opportunities, and trade-offs.
• Deliver Results & Scenario Planning: Develop scenarios and pathways to achieve targets, assess potential outcomes, and drive results.
• Quantify & Prioritize Opportunities: Evaluate the “size of the prize” to compare opportunities and inform prioritization.
• Evaluate Investments & Returns: Assess capital investments, ROI/IRR, and post-investment performance to support informed decision-making.
• Analyze Economics & Cost Structure: Leverage analytics to identify productivity opportunities, understand cost drivers, and evaluate unit economics.
• Connect Across a Global, Matrixed Business: Coordinate across markets, International, U.S., and platform teams to align strategies and priorities.
• Optimize Business Choices: Conduct cost-benefit analyses and determine required lift to help leaders evaluate options and make informed decisions.

What you'll bring:

• Proven leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams and driving consensus on financial decisions.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and business case development for executive-level presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategies that optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and financial narrative to effectively collaborate with leadership and stakeholders across departments.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 6 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area OR 8 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience. 3 years’ experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
