What you'll do...
Walmart’s Associate Productivity and Excellence (APEX) group is a powerhouse of several exceptional teams delivering world-class technology solutions and services making a profound impact at every level of Walmart.
As a key part of Walmart Global Tech, our teams set the bar for operational excellence and leverage emerging technology to support millions of associates, and business stakeholders worldwide. We impact associates every day, right from their onboarding to their experience with hundreds of different systems that they use every single day for their productivity needs, besides partnering with key business stakeholders to build with them so that they can help their customers. Joining APEX means embarking on a journey of limitless growth, relentless innovation, and the chance to set new industry standards that shape the future of Walmart.
About the Team:
The Associate Productivity, Collaboration, and Content (APCC) team supports Walmart’s global workforce by solving business problems requiring automation and intelligent workflows. APCC empowers associates to build custom AI agents using a pro-code approach—leveraging Python and Java skills for maximum flexibility and integration.
By adopting agent development kits (ADK) and DX Starter Kits, engineers can scaffold production-grade agents and MCP servers with built-in observability, security, and seamless integration with Walmart’s LLM Gateway and internal platforms. This approach enables rapid prototyping and robust automation, allowing teams to solve complex business challenges with tailored agentic solutions.
APCC drives efficiency by enabling associates to access essential knowledge and tools, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in software development and solution design across the enterprise. For engineers, this means the freedom to build, customize, and deploy agents that automate workflows, integrate with enterprise systems, and deliver actionable insights using Python and Java
What You Will Do:
Analyze and translate business requirements into scalable, secure software, automation, and agent-based solutions.
Design and build full stack applications, AI-powered solutions, and agent-based workflows that integrate with collaboration and enterprise platforms.
Develop maintainable, testable code aligned with performance and security standards.
Build automation solutions, agent orchestration flows, and CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency, reliability, and operational scale.
Execute testing, defect tracking, and regression validation to ensure high-quality delivery.
Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, assess risks, recommend agent-based solutions, and support agile delivery iterations.
What you'll bring:
Extensive experience as full-stack software development with proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python and related frameworks.
Strong knowledge of software design patterns, solution architecture, and scalable distributed systems.
Expertise in Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting.
Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into functional and non-functional technical solutions.
Skilled in debugging, defect management, and performance troubleshooting to ensure high availability and maintainability.
Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and application telemetry implementation.
Commitment to coding standards, security policies, and quality assurance best practices.
