Every detail matters when it comes to delivering exceptional care for our patients and supporting our caregivers. As an Environmental Services Supervisor II at Cleveland Clinic, you will play a vital role in maintaining the clean, safe, and welcoming environment that patients, visitors, and staff rely on every day by overseeing the technical and administrative operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department. In this leadership role, you will mentor team members, serve as a trusted resource, and implement goals that support both clinical and non-clinical areas while ensuring the effective use of staff, policies, and procedures to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance. By building and leading a motivated, high-performing team, your work will directly support Cleveland Clinic's mission of providing an exceptional environment that enables world-class patient care.
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with every 3rd weekend and every other holiday rotation requirement.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Supervise the functions, daily operations and caregivers in the Environmental Services department.
- Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.
- Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high quality cleaning and maintenance is being performed.
- Maintain staffing levels and approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.
- Ensure cross coverage.
- Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
- Improve procedures and processes.
- Analyze work flow and procedures and identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience as a Work Leader, Team Lead, Project Manager or one year of supervisory experience or a bachelor’s degree
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Environmental services or housekeeping experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
- Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
