Description
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the implementation and evaluation of School Age Program goals, policies, procedures, and services.
- Supervise, coordinate, and support program staff, including Program Coordinators, Lead Facilitators, Site Leaders, Site Aides, and other team members.
- Recruit staff, identify training needs, and promote professional development.
- Assist with budget preparation, monitor expenditures, and oversee program resources.
- Maintain quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts to enhance service delivery.
- Develop collaborative relationships with community partners to strengthen before- and after-school services.
- Analyze program data and statistics and prepare reports to support program planning and decision-making.
- Ensure programs remain aligned with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Represent the department on committees, boards, focus groups, community events, conferences, and workshops.
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of full-time equivalent experience in the operation and management of before/after school programs, financial accounting and budgeting experience, direct human services delivery, and training to include the supervision of others or closely related experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a Child Protective Services Check and background checks related to the position before any offer of employment or promotion.
- Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
- May require some travel.
- May require working beyond a standard 40-hour work week to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
