Do you want a career that means more?

At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.

We're a well-respected not-for-profit that's been serving society's most vulnerable for over 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for more than 40,000 people who rely on our person-centred support. And now, we're extending our reach and impact even further.

As our Program Lead – Family Mental Health Support Services, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting children, young people and families experiencing mental health challenges by leading an integrated service that combines clinical leadership, therapeutic counselling and complex case management.

This is more than a leadership role. You'll inspire and develop a multidisciplinary team while remaining connected to frontline practice, maintaining a small caseload of counselling and complex family case management. Your leadership will ensure children, young people and families receive coordinated, trauma-informed and person-centred support that strengthens resilience, improves wellbeing and creates lasting change.

Be welcomed into a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven community where we don't just talk about values, we live them.

Your opportunity

As our Program Lead – Counselling and Family Mental Health Support Services, you'll provide strategic leadership, professional supervision and operational oversight of Anglicare's Shoalhaven Counselling and Shoalhaven/Dapto Family Mental Health Support Services.

Leading a team of Counsellors, Case Managers and student placements, you'll foster a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement while ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic and case management services.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll maintain a small portfolio of counselling clients and complex family case management, providing specialist intervention where families require additional clinical expertise and coordinated support.

With integrity and resilience, you will:

  • Lead, coach and professionally supervise Counsellors, Case Managers and student placements.

  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative and values-driven team culture.

  • Provide clinical leadership and practice guidance across counselling and case management services.

  • Maintain a small clinical caseload delivering evidence-based counselling.

  • Manage a portfolio of complex family case management clients.

  • Undertake comprehensive psychosocial, mental health and risk assessments.

  • Develop Family Support Plans and therapeutic intervention plans.

  • Coordinate care across schools, NSW Health, GPs and community agencies.

  • Facilitate case conferences and multidisciplinary planning meetings.

  • Build referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Promote services through community engagement and partnerships.

  • Monitor quality, outcomes, budgets and KPIs.

  • Ensure compliance with funding and professional standards.

  • Lead service innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Champion Anglicare's Christian mission and values.

What you'll bring

You're an experienced clinician and inspiring leader who is passionate about improving mental health outcomes for children, young people and families.

You enjoy developing people, strengthening services and working collaboratively with families and partner organisations to deliver holistic, coordinated care.

Most importantly, you'll demonstrate Anglicare's values of Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Excellence.

You will also need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related discipline.

  • Current registration or professional membership (AASW, PACFA, ACA, AHPRA or equivalent).

  • Current NSW Driver Licence.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leadership and working with individuals, children, young people and families experiencing mental health concerns.

  • Extensive counselling and/or family therapy experience.

  • Significant complex case management experience.

  • Experience completing psychosocial and risk assessments.

  • Leadership experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed and family-centred practice.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ideally, you will also have:
