About your team
Marketing at Fidelity International Japan (FIJ) covers the Wholesale, Sub-Advisory and Institutional businesses. For each of these business channels, we aspire to undertake differentiated, audience-focused marketing programs revolving around branding, intellectual capital and product-specific content. With an increasing emphasis on contemporary digital marketing, we collaborate with partners around the world on delivering effective marketing programs to reach and influence our multiple audiences in Japan.
About your role
As a key member of Fidelity Japan's Marketing team, you will lead the planning, development, governance, and strategic utilization of marketing content to support client engagement and business growth.
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, creation, editing, management, and optimization of a broad range of marketing content, including marketing materials, thought leadership articles, insight content, client communications, and sales enablement materials. This role will also be responsible for localizing globally developed content for the Japanese market and maximizing its effectiveness through strategic deployment.
Working closely with local business teams and global marketing colleagues, the individual will identify opportunities to maximize the impact and reuse of content across Retail, Wholesale, and Institutional client segments, helping to enhance client engagement and business outcomes.
In addition, the role will support quality control, governance, and marketing operations activities to ensure that marketing initiatives are executed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Success in this role requires strong content development, project management, and stakeholder management skills, together with the ability to collaborate effectively across both local and global teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Marketing & Content Development
- Plan, develop, edit, manage, maintain, and continuously optimize marketing materials, presentations, thought leadership articles, website content, client communications, and sales support materials.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify and develop content themes aligned with client needs and business priorities.
- Ensure high- quality content and consistent application of Fidelity's brand guidelines.
- Develop and execute content strategies that enhance client engagement and support business growth.
- Manage and optimize content assets to promote effective reuse and knowledge sharing across the organization.
2. Strategic Utilization of Global Content
- Localize and adapt globally developed content for the Japanese market.
- Optimize content based on local client needs, market conditions, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize the impact of global content across Japan.
- Collaborate with global marketing teams to share best practices and share best practices and identify new opportunities to maximize the value of global content in Japan.
- Strengthen content deployment and engagement across Retail, Wholesale, and Institutional client segments.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
- Conduct quality reviews of marketing materials, translated content, video content, and other marketing deliverables.
- Support review and approval processes in accordance with internal policies, compliance requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Partner with Compliance and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and compliant marketing communications.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing overall quality standards within the Marketing function.
4. Marketing Operations & Governance
- Support vendor management, procurement activities, budget administration, and invoice processing.
- Maintain marketing-related data, records, and documentation.
- Assist in campaign execution through workflow management and internal approval processes.
5. Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support and contribute to local, regional, and global marketing initiatives, as well as cross-functional projects.
- Drive initiatives to enhance enhance marketing capabilities and improve the strategic use of content.
- Build strong working relationships with Sales, Investments, Product Development, Compliance, and Global Marketing teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
Experience and Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in content marketing, content development, marketing communications, or a related field.
- Experience in asset management, investment management, financial services, or a related industry.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to translate complex financial and investment concepts into clear, compelling, and client-friendly content.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, including written and verbal communication. Preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience localizing and leveraging global content for local markets.
- Knowledge of Wholesale and/or Institutional distribution channels.
- Understanding of mutual funds, pension products, and/or capital markets.
- Experience with video creation and editing tools such as Microsoft Clipchamp.
