The Opportunity
Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with Global Headquarters Commercial leaders in driving strategic financial planning, forecasting, and investment decisions. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to influence business performance, provide actionable financial insights, and support key global functions including Marketing and the Project Management Office in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Work On
- Partner with Global Commercial leaders to provide financial guidance that supports strategic business decisions.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and monthly outlook processes for Global HQ Commercial functions.
- Evaluate investments, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to maximize business impact.
- Manage operating expense forecasts and ensure accurate, timely financial submissions.
- Monitor spending against budget and forecast while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.
- Support month-end close activities, including management of spending commitments and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial results, key performance drivers, and forecast variances to deliver actionable insights.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility and decision-making for business leaders.
- Drive process improvements in forecasting, planning, and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships and leverage financial systems and automation tools to improve performance tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of financial analysis, planning, or forecasting experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to plan, implement, and manage financial information and control systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working collaboratively with business partners to support financial decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, Master's degree, CPA, or other relevant professional certification.
- Strong understanding of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
- Experience supporting Commercial, Manufacturing, or Corporate Finance organizations.
- Knowledge of financial policies, accounting principles, and budgeting best practices.
- Proven ability to identify business challenges and opportunities and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Experience with financial planning and enterprise systems such as Hyperion, Essbase, SAP, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated success driving process improvements and enhancing financial reporting capabilities.
