DVM Emergency Veterinarian – Yorktown, VA
A progressive veterinary practice is seeking a dedicated veterinarian to join its emergency-focused team. This opportunity is ideal for a doctor who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment, values collaboration, and is interested in providing high-quality care for urgent and critical cases.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with urgent and emergency medical conditions
- Perform physical examinations, diagnostics, and appropriate medical or surgical procedures
- Develop and communicate individualized treatment plans
- Manage hospitalized and critical patients as needed
- Utilize diagnostic imaging and in-house medical resources
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis
- Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Participate in continuing education and clinical case discussions
- Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
Qualifications
- DVM/VMD or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary program
- Active or eligible veterinary license
- DEA registration or ability to obtain upon hire
- USDA accreditation or ability to obtain upon hire
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care
- Experienced veterinarians and new graduates interested in mentorship are encouraged to apply
