R&D Design Engineer

We are currently looking for an R&D Design Engineer to join our organization.  The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented engineer looking to join the Exterior Design Engineering Team.  Come help shape the exterior look and function of future Nissan vehicles!

A Day in the Life:    

• Overall design-responsible for: Lamps, Wipers, Washer System, Mirrors, Horn, Cowl Cover.  

• Create initial design concepts based on program-changing content.

• Secure necessary budget for responsible parts.

• Troubleshoot issues.  Find root cause(s) and propose countermeasure(s).

• Work with suppliers to ensure overall quality, timing, and cost requirements are met.  

Who We’re Looking For: 

Required:

• Education requirements: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Optical, or Electrical).

• 1 or more years of directly related professional-level engineering experience.

• Ability to gather data, boil it down to key points, and propose solutions.

• Self-motivated, self-driven, detail-oriented problem-solver.

• Excellent organization and communication skills (written and verbal).

• Ability to perform work onsite at the Farmington Hills, MI, USA office.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.

• A clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required.

  

Desired:

• Experience in automotive exterior Lamps, Wipers, Mirrors a strong plus.

• Experience in Siemens NX CAD software a strong plus.

Travel Requirements: occasional business trips up to 2 weeks within North America; also occasional business trips up to 4 weeks overseas (Asia, Europe).
