We are searching for a Sourcing Specialist to join our team in Ensenada, Mexico. In this role, you will assist in multiple activities to support the purchasing team, including supporting other groups inside the organization. The Sourcing Analyst will also contribute to obtaining documentation and certificates from suppliers that will help the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates data collection from suppliers required for import/export regulations (AAA Certification) along with other legal requirements from Suppliers (maquiladora/ IMMEX).
- COO (Certificates of origin) and USMCA. Requests and organize information to complete and update all COOs and USMCA.
- Contacts suppliers and maintains CTPAT/OEA security programs information from suppliers
- Return to Vendor (RTV), leading weekly meetings with quality and buyers.
- Supplier Scorecards: Organize data from OTD (on time delivery), Quality rejections, Cost variances (PPV) and prepare quarterly supplier reports.
- Weekly report for Sourcing Leads that will drive cost savings opportunities
- Weekly Inventory report by commodity
- Communicate problem areas or market conditions that could have a significant effect on production schedules for the purchasing manager.
- Ensure compliance with Lacey Acts and TSCA certification (wood)
- Monitor stocking reports to determine trends and areas of concentration regarding plant suppliers.
- Prepare and assist all plant contracts for service and installation, per SAT, REPSE and liability compliance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in both domestic and global supply chain purchasing. Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of guitars and amplifiers.
- Effective project management skills.
- Strong communication skills. Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (written and spoken, able to maintain a conversation over the phone)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software. EXCEL knowledge is critical.
- It must also be organized.
- Must be able to learn and find information in depth from multiple sources, starting from scratch.
- Must be a self-starter that can work well independently and with a team.
- Experience desired (but not critical) in sourcing/purchasing, finance/accounting, planning, logistics or supplier quality.
- Working knowledge of SAP R3 and BW programs preferred.
