Department: Operations / Production
Reports To: Production or Warehouse Supervisor
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Location: 3494 South TK Avenue
Boise, ID 83705
Shift: Early Mornings/Evenings M-F, occasional Saturdays
Position Summary
The Warehouse Packaging / Operator is responsible for supporting safe and efficient production, packaging, material handling, and warehouse operations. This position operates production and packaging equipment, prepares finished products for shipment, moves materials throughout the facility, and performs routine quality and safety checks.
The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-focused, able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and committed to meeting production and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely operate packaging, production, and material-handling equipment according to established procedures.

Set up, start, monitor, and shut down assigned packaging or production equipment.

Monitor equipment during operation and make basic adjustments when necessary.

Identify equipment issues, jams, or abnormal operating conditions and promptly notify the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.

Package, seal, label, palletize, and prepare finished products according to production specifications.

Inspect products and packaging for quality, accuracy, damage, contamination, or other defects.

Verify product codes, labels, lot numbers, dates, quantities, and packaging materials as required.

Supply production and packaging areas with materials necessary to maintain continuous operations.

Move raw materials, packaging supplies, finished goods, pallets, and other materials throughout the facility.

Load, unload, stage, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.

Complete required production, inventory, quality, and warehouse documentation accurately.

Maintain organized work areas and follow established housekeeping and sanitation requirements.

Assist with equipment cleaning and basic sanitation activities as assigned.

Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies.

Communicate production, equipment, quality, and safety concerns to leadership promptly.

Participate in shift changeovers, product changeovers, and line preparation activities.
-
Assist other production and warehouse employees as operational needs require.

Meet established productivity, attendance, quality, and performance expectations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Equipment Operation
Depending on assignment and training, employees may operate or work around:

Packaging and production machinery

Conveyors
-
Pallet wrappers
-
Labeling and coding equipment

Pallet jacks
-
Scales and weighing equipment
-
Forklifts or other powered industrial equipment, if properly trained and authorized
Qualifications
Required
-
High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, packaging, machine operation, or production experience preferred.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions.
-
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
-
Ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
-
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Willingness to learn equipment operation, quality standards, and production processes.
Preferred
-
Previous food manufacturing or packaging experience.
-
Previous machine operator experience.
-
Warehouse or inventory experience.
-
Forklift or powered industrial truck experience.
-
Familiarity with GMP, food safety, sanitation, or quality-control requirements.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

Frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.

Regularly lift and carry up to 80** pounds**.

Work around moving machinery and production equipment.

Safely perform repetitive packaging and material-handling activities.

Wear required PPE and comply with facility safety requirements.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment, wet or slippery surfaces, food ingredients, and other conditions commonly associated with manufacturing operations.
Employees are expected to comply with all safety, sanitation, food safety, quality, and operational requirements applicable to their assigned work area.
