Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As a Senior Financial Analyst within the External Reporting team, you'll support the preparation and delivery of Westpac New Zealand's external financial reporting obligations across multiple legal entities. You'll partner closely with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Legal and senior stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and compliant reporting while providing meaningful financial analysis and insights.
This role offers exposure to executive and board-level reporting, external auditors, regulatory reporting requirements, and a variety of projects focused on improving reporting processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities include:
Prepare and review statutory financial reports, disclosure statements, subsidiary financial statements and treasury programme documentation.
Analyse financial results and reporting packs, providing insights into key movements and trends.
Coordinate reporting deliverables and stakeholder inputs to support executive, CEO and board sign-off.
Partner with auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are met accurately and efficiently.
Support regulatory reporting obligations across Westpac New Zealand entities.
Contribute to finance projects, process improvements and reporting enhancements.
Coach and support junior team members, helping build capability across the team
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Experience gained within a Big Four accounting firm, financial services organisation, or listed corporate environment.
Strong understanding of external financial reporting principles and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across a complex organisation.
Experience with reporting, automation or data tools such as Power BI will be highly regarded.
Banking or financial services experience is advantageous.
