Description
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Lead to join our Financial Crime Operations team. This newly created role will help us build a clearer, end-to-end view of our operations by turning data and information into meaningful insights that support better decisions, stronger customer outcomes and effective risk management.
You’ll provide business and operational intelligence across the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, customer refreshes, Enhanced Customer Due Diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious matter reporting and customer exits. By bringing together information from our internal teams and delivery partners, you’ll help create a complete picture of operational performance, emerging trends, customer risk and opportunities for improvement.
Working closely with leaders across Financial Crime Operations, Financial Crime Compliance, Line 1 Risk and the broader business, you’ll analyse operational information, prepare meaningful reporting and help identify opportunities to improve processes and controls. You’ll also support the delivery of strategic initiatives designed to strengthen our Customer Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering operations.
This is a hands-on analytical role rather than a deeply technical data position. You’ll receive data and use it to identify trends, explain what is happening operationally and translate complex information into clear, practical insights but you won’t need to understand data extraction processes or have advanced coding.
About you
You – our preferred candidate is someone who will bring experience in business intelligence, operational intelligence, management information or operational reporting, along with the curiosity to understand how a business operates and where improvements can be made. You’re comfortable working with data, identifying patterns and translating information into clear insights that help stakeholders make informed decisions.
You’ll be an effective communicator who can build trusted relationships across different teams and explain complex information in a practical and accessible way. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities will help you succeed in this role. You’ll also be comfortable taking ownership of your work, asking thoughtful questions and using sound judgement in a fast-moving environment.
Experience within banking, financial services, Financial Crime, Customer Due Diligence or Anti-Money Laundering would be valuable, but it isn’t essential. We’re more interested in your ability to understand business operations, work with management information and turn data into meaningful intelligence. Some exposure to coding or technical reporting tools would be helpful, but deep technical expertise is not required.
If you enjoy connecting the dots, uncovering the story behind the data and using insights to improve how work gets done, we’d love to hear from you!
