We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance & Asset Coordinator to join our Mackay-based team, supporting a key underground coal mining contract. This is a diverse and hands-on role that combines asset management, maintenance coordination, commercial oversight and client relationship management to maximise equipment availability, reliability and contract performance.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the ongoing management and performance of a fleet of underground mining assets, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.

You will work closely with site personnel, maintenance teams, suppliers and clients to coordinate maintenance activities, manage asset lifecycles, optimise equipment utilisation and contribute to the commercial success of the contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mining assets throughout their entire lifecycle, including acquisition, maintenance planning, overhauls, component change-outs and disposal.
• Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and utilisation, identifying trends and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate spare parts procurement, inventory management, tracking and sales to internal and external customers.
• Manage warranty claims and equipment delay reporting.
• Develop and monitor maintenance schedules and ensure servicing is completed in accordance with OEM recommendations and contractual requirements.
• Lead weekly performance reviews covering equipment availability, downtime, maintenance actions, budgets and forecasting.
• Monitor contract performance, budgets and financial outcomes, ensuring commercial targets are achieved.
• Coordinate accurate invoicing and assist with forecasting, reporting and financial performance analysis.
• Build strong relationships with clients and serve as the primary point of contact for operational and commercial matters.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legislative requirements and company standards.
• Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, finance and hire teams to optimise asset performance and customer satisfaction.

About You

You are a proactive and commercially minded professional who enjoys balancing technical asset management with customer engagement and operational delivery.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience working with Underground Coal Mining equipment.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, reliability and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience coordinating maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Well-developed understanding of contract management, budgeting and commercial performance.
• Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities.
• High level communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Relevant trade qualification or experience within underground mining will be highly regarded.
• Qualifications in Asset Management, Project Management or Contract Management will be advantageous.
