Your opportunity
Behind every meaningful service outcome is reliable data that helps people make better decisions. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming complex information into actionable insights that improve service delivery, strengthen organisational performance, and help Mission Australia meet its commitments to the people and communities we support.
Working as part of a collaborative Business Intelligence team, you will develop sophisticated reporting solutions, analyse data from multiple sources, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our Azure and Microsoft Fabric data environment.
This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with purpose, helping ensure data-driven decisions contribute to building stronger communities and creating pathways to a better future for Australians.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and enhance business intelligence reporting to measure KPIs, business performance and client outcomes.
- Design and build reporting data structures using SQL and appropriate analytics methodologies.
- Analyse data from multiple platforms and source systems to provide meaningful business insights.
- Deliver contractual and performance reporting that meets funder requirements.
- Produce validation and quality assurance reports to support accurate data collection and reporting.
- Establish and maintain reporting definitions, data standards and business rules.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
- Conduct data validation and participate in user acceptance testing to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects, continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of Mission Australia's data platforms.
Requirements for success
- Looking for someone with 3 to 5 years years’ experience, ideally with a mixed skill set of Data Engineer/BI Developer/Analyst, with experience of ETL/ELT environment.
- Proficiency in writing complex, accurate SQL queries to develop reporting data structures for Power BI (CTE, dynamic PIVOT, FETCH, INDEX, DEX).
- Experience in Azure Data Lake and MS Fabric desirable
- Deployment experience via DevOps
- Experience of working on Azure Analytics, Python script under MS Fabric, desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage quality of data from multiple sources by tracing from reports to source system. (Data QA / UAT)
- Knowledge of the report development lifecycle and drafting business requirements for end users.
- Experience in using data and analytics capability to help inform decision making and deliver project outcomes.
