Salary: According to TVöD Bund, pay grade E10
Location: Berlin
Department and reporting line: General Regional Peace Support Department, reporting to the Head of Sub-Saharan Africa Unit and Senior Project Manager
Your main tasks:
- Contribute to organizing, coordinating and implementing project activities in close collaboration with the Sudan team and partners.
- Conduct background research and provide the team with abstracts about conflict topics when needed.
- Contribute to the content-related preparation and subsequent organisation of workshops and dialogue meetings in Berlin and East Africa.
- Close collaboration with Finance Managers and colleagues working on logistics regarding financial reporting and project activities.
- Contribute to donor reporting as well as administrative and financial procedures.
Your responsibilities
Your knowledge, experience & skills
- Master’s degree within a relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar.
- First relevant work experience, especially in event organisation, budget management, coordination of tasks, etc. in an international and intercultural setting.
- Ideally, contextual expertise in Sudan or the Horn of Africa, and thematic knowledge on dialogue/ mediation processes and gender programming.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is deemed essential.
- Strong organisational as well as intercultural and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in high-level settings.
- Curiosity, empathy, passion, commitment and perseverance.
- Willingness to travel to East Africa.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications.
