About the role
AGL’s Training & Risk team have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Manager to join the team.
This role plays a critical part in strengthening risk capability, governance and decision-making across a diverse operational portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Risk & Training, you’ll partner with leaders across the business to embed practical risk management practices, provide strategic advice and drive a proactive risk culture that supports safe, compliant and high-performing operations.
What you'll do:
- Lead risk assurance activities, assessing control effectiveness and supporting continuous improvement across assets
- Lead and develop a small team while supporting a proactive and positive risk culture across the business
- Lead and embed risk management practices across AGL’s Energy Assets portfolio, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and effectively managed
- Partner with operational leaders and stakeholders to provide practical, risk-informed advice that supports sound business decisions
- Oversee portfolio-level risk reporting, delivering clear insights on key risks, trends, controls and emerging issues to senior leaders
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in risk, compliance, assurance or operational risk management within a large and complex organisation
- Understanding of enterprise risk frameworks and the ability to translate policies and standards into practical business outcomes
- Experience working in regulated industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure or related sectors is desirable
- Ability to influence stakeholders, build trusted relationships and provide constructive challenge at all levels
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to deliver clear insights and drive continuous improvement initiatives
